Siraha, October 27, 2026 — Danish Khan, ward chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Golbazar Municipality-11, has been arrested in connection with a case involving alleged offences against public peace following an incident between two communities in Golbazar, police said.
A complaint was filed against Khan about two months ago, accusing him of playing a leading role in the vandalism and arson reported in Golbazar on Shrawan 14.
Superintendent of Police Basudev Pathak of the Siraha District Police Office said Khan was arrested in the Golbazar area. He has been kept at the district police office for further investigation, Pathak said.
In a related development, police arrested Golbazar Municipality-11 ward chair Soheb Anwar on the same case the previous night, according to the information provided.
RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, his wife Nikita and Minister Pratibha Rawal have departed for a three-day private religious visit to India, including Kainchi Dham and Kamakhya Temple.
