Rasuwa, October 25, 2026 — Construction of a vehicle-capable Bailey bridge is progressing rapidly in Syafrubesi, with authorities working to complete the project before Tihar after floods destroyed the concrete bridge connecting the area with Dhunche.
A team led by Rasuwa Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Dharma Raj Upreti inspected construction projects in the area on Saturday.
Foundation work for the new Bailey bridge has begun at the site where the concrete bridge linking Syafrubesi with Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, was swept away by the Bhotekoshi flood on August 26.
Construction is continuing around the clock, with the authorities aiming to make the bridge operational before Tihar.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office has supplied steel cables and other materials for a temporary footbridge connecting Syafrubesi and Bridim. The flood had disrupted movement along the route.
