Kathmandu, October 6, 2026 — The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai on Rs 200,000 bail in an electronic transaction case.
A bench presided over by District Judge Umesh Prasad Luintel issued the order on Tuesday, requiring Prasai to post Rs 200,000 bail.
The Cyber Bureau had arrested Prasai on June 26. Police had registered a case against him under the Electronic Transactions Act following a complaint filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Rachana Khativada.
Prasai was accused of making derogatory remarks about Khativada on YouTube, alleging that she had traded her parliamentary position for her son’s remains.
