Rasuwa, August 26, 2026 — The death toll from the devastating floods along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors has risen to 95, with dozens of people still missing after a massive flash flood swept through Rasuwa and neighbouring districts on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, 95 bodies have so far been recovered from flood-affected areas. Authorities have yet to complete the identification of all the deceased.
The disaster has also left 85 security personnel missing, including 44 members of the Nepali Army, 28 from Nepal Police and 13 from the Armed Police Force.
Search and rescue teams have been mobilised across the affected areas to locate those missing and recover additional victims.
The Prime Minister’s Office said 60 people associated with various hydropower projects have also gone out of contact following the flood.
