Kathmandu, August 26, 2026 — A question-and-answer session with Prime Minister Balendra Shah scheduled for Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed amid the devastating flash flood in Rasuwa and flood-related damage reported in several districts.
The parliamentary meeting will instead hear from Home Minister Sudan Gurung, who is expected to brief lawmakers on the Bhotekoshi River flood and the government’s ongoing search, rescue and relief operations.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Gurung will update the House on the flood situation and the measures being taken by the government to respond to the disaster.
The decision comes as authorities continue to assess the damage caused by the sudden flooding in Rasuwa and downstream areas, with rescue and relief efforts underway.
