Kathmandu, August 23, 2026 — The government has expressed serious concern over the murder of three-year-old Garima Chaudhary of Dasdhuri in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Bara, and over violence against women and children.
Following public outrage, the government pledged to strengthen existing legal provisions. A three-point commitment agreement was signed with Garima’s parents during talks at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday night.
