Hetauda, August 26, 2026 — The death toll from the catastrophic flash floods along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors has risen to 31, according to an official update issued by the Bagmati Province Police Office in Hetauda at 5:25 pm. Wednesday.
The flooding, which originated in the Rasuwa border area before surging downstream, has affected several districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan.
Police said 93 people have been injured in the disaster, while joint search-and-rescue teams from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have rescued 93 people from affected settlements and areas along the rivers.
Search and rescue operations remain underway across the affected areas as security personnel continue efforts to locate people who may still be missing and provide assistance to those injured.
Relief operations are also continuing, with authorities working to assess the extent of damage and provide support to communities affected by the floods.
