Kathmandu, August 22, 2026 — The government and the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Campaign led by Durga Prasai have reached a 14-point agreement, following which the campaign has decided to suspend its ongoing protest and sit-in programmes.
The agreement was reached after intensive negotiations between representatives of the Prasai-led campaign and the government’s dialogue team.
The campaign had entered the Kathmandu Valley and staged a sit-in protest in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, as part of its campaign activities.
Liladhar Subedi, joint secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and coordinator of the government’s dialogue team, signed the agreement on behalf of the government.
Bishnu Bohora Chhetri, coordinator of the campaign’s dialogue committee, signed the agreement on behalf of the Prasai-led campaign.
