Kathmandu, November 1, 2026 — The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has established seven subcommittees to implement and coordinate its framework for selecting candidates for the upcoming local elections.
The decision was made at a meeting held at the party’s central office in Banasthali under the chairmanship of General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya, who also heads the committee responsible for implementing and coordinating the candidate selection framework.
The party has assigned Kavindra Burlakoti to lead the Candidate Club, Sushant Vaidik to head the technology subcommittee and Janak Singh Dhami to coordinate complaints.
Similarly, Dr Toshima Karki will lead the subcommittee on inclusion and women’s participation, while Tashi Lhajom has been assigned responsibility for capacity development. Rahbar Ansari will oversee management, and Milan Limbu will lead publicity.
The meeting also decided to invite applications from interested and eligible candidates seeking party nominations for ward chairperson and ward member positions in metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities.
According to the party, applicants can submit their applications through the Candidate Club.
The RSP has barred lawmaker Khagendra Sunar from official duties while its disciplinary commission investigates allegations of abuse, threats, blackmail and suspicious financial transactions.
