Kathmandu, September 8, 2026 — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has said the state must take full responsibility for providing medical treatment, family support and long-term rehabilitation to those injured during Nepal's Gen Z movement.
In a statement issued on the first anniversary of the movement, Lamichhane described the day as an explosion of a new awakening in Nepali history.
He said the peaceful demonstration by the younger generation represented a clear rejection of traditional political practices and reflected the aspirations of a generation seeking change.
“This generation has grown up in the digital era, possesses global awareness, and seeks a future in their own country; bad governance is unacceptable to them,” Lamichhane said.
Lamichhane emphasized that the Gen Z movement was completely spontaneous and said no political party or leader should attempt to use it for narrow political interests.
