Janakpur, November 4, 2026 — The Dhanusha District Court has ordered Irshad Khan to be sent to prison pending trial in connection with the stabbing death of 24-year-old Aamin Safi in Janakpur.
A bench led by Judge Roshan Kumar Bhattarai issued the remand order on Tuesday.
The court ordered Khan’s mother, Saimun Khatun, to be released on bail of Rs 100,000.
Safi was stabbed to death on Asoj 22 in Sonarpatti, near Janaki Temple in Ward 5 of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City.
Another young man, 25-year-old Imtiaz Rain, was seriously injured in the stabbing.
Khan also faces two separate attempted murder cases over allegations that he previously stabbed two people in Janakpur. The court said a detention hearing in those cases was underway on Wednesday.
