New York, USA, September 2, 2026 — Bank of America Vice President Erin Piacenti was killed in a stabbing incident in New York City's Times Square on Monday, according to police and a Reuters report.
Piacenti, 32, was a vice president in Bank of America's business selection and conflicts unit, according to her LinkedIn profile.
New York police said Piacenti suffered multiple stab wounds during the incident and was later pronounced dead.
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones,” Bank of America said in an email quoted by Reuters.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said during a press briefing on Monday that a woman carrying multiple knives stabbed two people in Times Square before police used a Taser and opened fire.
