Kathmandu, September 3, 2026 — The third batch of emergency relief supplies provided by China arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday aboard a Y-20A large transport aircraft operated by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force.
Ten Chinese forensic experts also arrived on the same flight to assist Nepal in its disaster response and victim identification efforts. They are the fourth group of Chinese experts sent to Nepal following the recent floods.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming and Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun attended the handover ceremony for the relief supplies and welcomed the incoming forensic team.
The latest consignment includes mortuary freezers, epidemic prevention materials and daily necessities urgently needed in Nepal following the devastating floods that affected several parts of the country.
According to the Chinese side, the forensic experts will begin working with Nepali authorities to assist in identifying victims of the disaster.
