Kathmandu, October 14, 2026 — The Ujyalo Nepal Party has resumed its signature campaign demanding the removal of the 5% value-added tax (VAT) imposed on electricity bills.
The campaign, launched on August 17, was suspended following the devastating flood that struck Rasuwa on August 26.
Party secretary Kedar Khadka said the party had decided to restart the campaign, which had received enthusiastic public participation.
The party has instructed its leaders at the provincial, district, municipal and ward levels, along with party activists, to immediately resume the campaign in their respective areas.
