Korean actor Jung Il-woo donates to support flood-affected communities in Nepal

Seoul, South Korea, September 2, 2026 — South Korean actor Jung Il-woo has made a donation to support residents and children affected by severe flooding in Nepal, with the funds set to be used for emergency relief and recovery efforts in major disaster-hit areas.

International humanitarian organization Good Neighbors announced on September 2 that the 38-year-old actor had contributed to its efforts to assist people displaced by the floods. According to the organization, the donation will support emergency relief and recovery activities in areas including Nuwakot and Gorkha.

Jung said he hoped his contribution would provide some assistance to residents and children whose lives had been suddenly disrupted by the disaster.

“I hope this small contribution can help residents and children who have been suddenly affected by the flooding,” Jung said. “I sincerely hope the affected areas will be restored as soon as possible and that people can return to their peaceful daily lives.”

Following the donation, Jung also joined The Neighbors Club, a special donor group operated by Good Neighbors. The group is made up of supporters who donate at least 10 million South Korean won annually and maintain a consistent commitment to charitable giving.

Good Neighbors said it has continued providing emergency assistance to communities affected by the flooding. Since August 28, the organization has distributed food, daily necessities and hygiene supplies to displaced residents in Nuwakot.

The organization is also supporting children experiencing psychological distress following the disaster. It has established child-friendly spaces and is providing psychosocial assistance aimed at helping affected children recover in a stable environment.

Jung made his acting debut in 2006 through the MBC sitcom High Kick! and gained widespread recognition in South Korea and internationally. He later appeared in productions including , , , and .
