Kathmandu, October 27, 2026 — The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has directed all liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industries to ensure that VAT invoices are issued for every gas sale following complaints that some retailers were failing to provide bills to customers and dealers.
The corporation’s LP Gas and Aviation Department sent a formal letter to all gas industries, instructing them to ensure that invoices accompany gas distribution transactions.
The directive states: “Due to complaints that some appointed retailers are not issuing invoices after selling gas, it is requested that arrangements be made to ensure that VAT invoices are issued to retailers for all gas distribution.”
According to the corporation, the measure is intended to improve transparency in the LPG market and curb revenue leakage.
NOC said it had previously communicated with the relevant associations regarding implementation of the decision.
The Food Management and Trading Company’s Taplejung branch sold 24,867 kilograms of sugar in two weeks at Rs 110 per kilogram and also began selling lentils.
