Kathmandu, September 3, 2026 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) gained 4.66 points on Thursday, extending its advance to a third consecutive trading session and closing at 2,542.77 points.
The market opened at 2,538 points and climbed to 2,545.04 points within the first 10 minutes. It later slipped to the day’s low of 2,533.43 points around the midpoint of the trading session before recovering and reaching an intraday high of 2,544.48 points. The index ultimately settled at 2,542.77 points.
Market volatility remained relatively low during the session, while daily turnover increased moderately to Rs 3.46 billion from Rs 2.94 billion on Wednesday.
Of the companies traded, share prices of 145 companies increased, while 123 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
The Investment sub-index recorded the strongest gain among the sectors, rising 1.26 percent, followed by the Trading sector, which advanced 1.09 percent. Movements in the other sectoral indices remained below one percent.
