Kathmandu, October 9, 2026 — Nepal’s stock market ended the trading week on a positive note on Friday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbing 17.15 points to close at 2,591.80 ahead of the Dashain festival.
The Sensitive Index rose 3.80 points, while the Float Index gained 1.42 points and the Sensitive Float Index increased by 1.50 points.
Market turnover also increased significantly. Shares worth Rs 4.84 billion were traded on Friday, up from Rs 3.93 billion on Thursday, marking an increase of around Rs 900 million.
A total of 12.91 million shares of 353 companies changed hands through 52,044 transactions.
Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower recorded the highest share-price gain, rising 4.91 percent. Sindhu Bikas Bank and Solu Hydropower each gained around 4 percent. Ridge Line Energy recorded the steepest decline, with its share price falling 7.85 percent.
