Kathmandu, September 5, 2026 — The price of gold in Nepal’s domestic market fell by Rs 11,100 per tola over the past week, while silver also recorded a decline.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of gold fell from Rs 318,500 per tola at the close of the previous week to Rs 307,400 per tola by the end of the latest trading week.
Gold prices declined continuously during the first four days of the period. The sharpest fall was recorded on Sunday, when the price dropped by Rs 9,500 per tola.
The market later recovered during the second half of the week, with the largest daily increase of Rs 7,600 per tola recorded on Thursday.
According to Reuters, international gold prices fell to a two-week low on Monday as investors assessed growing expectations of a possible US Federal Reserve interest-rate hike. However, demand for the precious metal strengthened later in the week as US Treasury yields eased after reaching multi-year highs and oil prices declined.
