Kathmandu, October 22, 2026 — Nepal will host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Playoff Tournament from December 4 to 21, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
The tournament will feature eight teams: the four lowest-ranked teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 and the top two teams each from the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League A and B.
The four best-performing teams in the playoff tournament will qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup Qualifier.
Hosting the tournament gives Nepal an opportunity to reach the ODI World Cup Qualifier for the second consecutive time.
However, Nepal’s hosting duties will require the previously scheduled cricket series between Nepal and India A to be rescheduled.
