Kathmandu, October 16, 2026 — The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially sanctioned the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Friday.
Organised and managed by CAN, the tournament is scheduled to run from October 26 to November 21.
In a press release issued on Friday, CAN said the ICC’s official sanction would contribute significantly to the development and expansion of domestic cricket in Nepal while raising the league’s international profile.
Speaking to journalists during NPL Media Day on Friday, CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said he had been repeatedly checking his email while waiting for confirmation of the ICC sanction.
“I believe it will be decided soon,” Khadka said.
