Nagdhunga tunnel road to charge vehicles from November 1

Kathmandu, October 29, 2026 — Vehicles using the Nagdhunga Tunnel Road will be charged a road usage fee from November 1, corresponding to Kartik 15 in the Nepali calendar, according to a public notice issued by the Nagdhunga Tunnel Construction Project.

The fee structure has been introduced in line with a decision made by the executive committee of the Road Board Nepal on Asoj 12 and a notice published in the Nepal Gazette on Chaitra 26, 2082.

The charges vary according to vehicle category and direction of travel, with separate rates for vehicles entering and leaving Kathmandu.

For Category 1 vehicles, including cars, vans, pickups, tractors, microbuses and other light vehicles, the fee will be Rs 65 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 60 when leaving the valley.

Category 2 vehicles, including minibuses and mini tippers or trucks, will be charged Rs 115 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 80 when leaving.

For Category 3 vehicles, including buses and trucks, the fee will be Rs 260 for entry into Kathmandu and Rs 200 for departure.
