Kathmandu, October 6, 2026 — Police have arrested three people from Kathmandu and Sindhuli with wildlife trophies suspected to be bear bile and an elephant tusk.
A 31-year-old man was arrested from Sorhakhutte in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–16 on Sunday with one wildlife trophy weighing about 140 grams and appearing to be bear bile, police said.
The arrested man has been identified as Yogendra Prasad Chaudhary, a resident of Sisaniya in Pratappur Rural Municipality–1, Nawalparasi West.
A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested Chaudhary. He was handed over to the Division Forest Office, Hattisar, Kathmandu, for necessary investigation and legal action.
Separately, two people were arrested from the Tallo Ranibas area of Kamalamai Municipality–14, Sindhuli, on Monday with one wildlife trophy weighing about 6 kilograms and appearing to be an elephant tusk.
