Kathmandu, October 14, 2026 — Nepal Police arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of repeatedly trafficking heroin after firing two warning shots in Tarkeshwar Municipality-4, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.
The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Basurdin Miya, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-31, after he allegedly attacked police officers and attempted to flee when they tried to search him, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Subas Bohara of the bureau, as reported by Ratopati.
Bohara said the warning shots were fired to stop Miya from escaping.
Police investigations reportedly found that Miya had brought brown heroin from Raxaul, India, to Kathmandu five or six times over the past three months.
Police seized 300 grams of brown heroin from him. Bohara described Miya as a repeat dealer of the drug.
