Nawalpur, August 30, 2026 — A passenger bus carrying people rescued from the devastating Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa crashed at Danda in Kawasoti Municipality-16, Nawalpur, on Sunday, injuring 32 of the 38 passengers aboard.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Pandit of the District Police Office, Nawalpur, 27 of the injured passengers received first aid and were discharged, while five remain under medical treatment.
Four passengers—Naresh Tharu of Bardiya, Binod Nepali of Achham, Shyamu BK of Banke and Mamata Pariyar of Rukum East—are receiving treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital in Nawalpur.
Another passenger, Rita Gandharva of Surkhet, was referred to the Old Medical College in Chitwan for further treatment.
The bus, bearing registration number Lu Pra 01-001 Kha 0386, was traveling toward Bardiya with flood survivors who had earlier been evacuated from Rasuwa to Kathmandu following the disaster.
