Kathmandu, August 30, 2026 — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed readiness to provide $10 million in financial assistance for rescue and relief operations following the devastating Bhote Koshi River flood in Rasuwa.
A UAE Aid delegation conveyed the commitment during a meeting at the office of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), according to the authority.
The delegation also sought information on the most urgent needs in the flood-hit areas and discussed the equipment and supplies required for the ongoing response.
NDRRMA Executive Chief Dharma Raj Uprety briefed the UAE team on the immediate need for temporary bridges, water purification and sanitation equipment, hygiene kits, large family tents and portable lighting systems with charging facilities.
The authority also identified portable generators, solar panels, satellite phones and walkie-talkies among the priority items required to strengthen rescue, relief and communication operations in the affected areas.
