Kathmandu, August 30, 2026 — Shram Sanskriti Party chairperson Harka Sampang has objected to the alleged use of his party’s bank account in a QR code circulated as the official donation code for the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
In a video posted on social media, Sampang said his party had not altered or replaced the QR code and claimed that an unidentified person deliberately edited the code to link it to the party’s bank account.
The issue surfaced after some social media users shared photos and videos claiming that scanning the QR code provided for donations to flood and landslide victims displayed the bank account of the Shram Sanskriti Party.
Sampang alleged that the QR code had been manipulated with the intention of damaging the party’s reputation. He also expressed suspicion that the act may have been carried out by individuals opposed to his party.
“I have already suspected who may have done this,” Sampang said in the video. He added that his party had previously discovered what he described as misuse of its QR code by the same individuals and had made the matter public.
