Rasuwa, August 26, 2026 — Twenty-six police personnel have gone missing following the flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, according to police.
Central Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General Abi Narayan Kafle said several personnel deployed at police units in Timure, Syafrubesi, Simle and Mailung have remained out of contact since the flood.
Search and rescue teams have so far recovered eight bodies from Nuwakot and Dhading during operations following the disaster.
The massive flood has caused extensive damage to settlements, bridges and road infrastructure along the Bhotekoshi River corridor. Authorities are continuing efforts to determine the full extent of the damage and locate those who remain missing.
