Dhanusha, October 25, 2026 — Police suspect that 30-year-old Rinadevi Yadav was murdered after she was found with a wound to her neck believed to have been inflicted by a sharp weapon at her parental home in Mathileshwar, Ward No. 3 of Mithila Bihari Municipality, Dhanusha.
Her husband, 35-year-old Umesh Yadav, was also found dead, hanging from a tree about one kilometre from the house. Umesh was a resident of Bharatpur in Ward No. 4 of the same municipality.
According to the information provided, Umesh had returned home from foreign employment a few days earlier and had visited his in-laws’ home only the previous day.
The couple had a four-year-old son. A wound believed to have been caused by a weapon was also found on one of the child’s thighs.
Dhanusha Police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal said the circumstances appeared suspicious. Police have reached the scene and are investigating the incident, he said.
