Myagdi, October 24, 2026 — Reconstruction of the flood-, landslide- and erosion-damaged Beni-Darbang-Muna road in Myagdi district is estimated to cost around Rs 70 million, according to the Infrastructure Development Office in Myagdi.
The road, which connects the western parts of Myagdi district, including Mangala, Malika and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities, with the district headquarters in Beni, suffered extensive damage following continuous rainfall from September 23 to 27.
According to the office, around 22 locations along the Beni-Muna road section, which leads to the administrative centre of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality, were damaged by floods, landslides and river erosion.
Engineer Mohan Ruwali of the office said the disasters had washed away sections of the road and damaged gabion walls, retaining walls and paved surfaces.
At least 15 locations between Beni and Panabagar in Mangala Rural Municipality-2 were affected by landslides of varying sizes, while river erosion caused the road to collapse at two locations. The preliminary cost of repairing infrastructure along this section alone is estimated at Rs 30 million to Rs 40 million, Ruwali said.
