Myagdi, October 23, 2026 — Tourist activity has begun increasing at major destinations in Myagdi district following Dashain, supported by favourable weather and the resumption of traffic on the Beni–Jomsom road after repairs.
Local tourism entrepreneurs said visitors began arriving on Thursday at popular destinations, including Ghodepani, Poon Hill, Khopara, Singa Tatopani, Bhrung–Tatopani, Annapurna Base Camp, Rupse Waterfall and Galeshwar.
Hotel operator Baburam Acharya of Galeshwar in Beni Municipality–9 said tourist arrivals had increased immediately after the main Dashain tika day. The number of visitors had fallen almost to zero after flooding in the Kali Gandaki River during the second week of Ashoj disrupted the Beni–Jomsom road.
“Since Thursday, tourist arrivals have started to increase again,” Acharya said. He added that the resumption of traffic following road repairs had raised expectations that tourism and other businesses, which had been struggling, would become more active between Dashain and Tihar.
The Myagdi section of the Beni–Jomsom road was obstructed by landslides and Kali Gandaki flooding following continuous rainfall from Ashoj 8 to 11. After repairs, the road reopened in the final week of Ashoj.
