Kathmandu, September 24, 2026 — Heavy rainfall is likely at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in Madhesh and Lumbini provinces today, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Very heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Windstorms are likely at a few places in Madhesh Province and the Tarai areas of Koshi Province.
Mostly cloudy weather is expected across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while generally cloudy conditions are forecast for Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Similarly, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at many places in Madhesh Province and the Tarai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Some places in the Tarai area of Sudurpashchim Province are also likely to receive moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
