Kathmandu, September 30, 2026 — Continuous rainfall has disrupted road networks across several parts of Nepal, affecting major highways and regional transport corridors in Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Manang, Gulmi, Myagdi, Mustang, Nawalparasi East and Lamjung.
According to Nepal Police, the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa has been completely blocked after river erosion and flooding damaged significant sections of the road. Travelers are being directed to a single-lane unpaved alternative route through Tokha-Chhare-Bidur to Dhunche-Syaphrubesi.
Authorities have also restricted night-time travel on the Tokha-Chhare section in Nuwakot. Non-essential vehicles are prohibited from traveling along the section from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Landslides, mudflows and road cave-ins have disrupted traffic along several other important routes. Affected corridors include the Besisahar-Khangsar, Beni-Jomsom and Jomsom-Korala roads, as well as the Kaligandaki Corridor and Mid-Hill Highway.
The disruptions have affected road connectivity in areas that serve as important regional and trade routes.
