Deuba heads to flood-hit Nuwakot for on-site inspection with relief materials

Nuwakot, September 10, 2026 — Former Prime Minister and former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba is visiting flood-affected areas of Nuwakot today for an on-site inspection accompanied by relief materials.

According to Deuba’s secretariat, he is travelling to Nuwakot to assess the situation in areas affected by the recent flooding and to support relief efforts.

A programme has been arranged for Deuba and other senior Nepali Congress leaders to leave Kathmandu for Nuwakot by road at 9:00 am, according to the secretariat.

The visit comes as flood-affected communities continue to deal with the consequences of the disaster, including damage to homes and infrastructure and the need for relief and recovery support.

Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa had earlier visited flood-affected areas as part of efforts to assess the situation on the ground.

Thapa travelled to flood-hit Rasuwa last Friday with a team of experts to inspect the damage and assess the needs of affected communities.

Deuba’s visit is expected to provide another opportunity for senior Nepali Congress leaders to observe the impact of the flooding directly and review the relief situation in the affected areas.
