Prime Minister Balendra Shah has been directed to attend the House of Representatives and answer lawmakers’ questions after repeatedly failing to appear for the monthly question-and-answer session required by parliamentary rules. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal issued the ruling on Monday, saying lawmakers had repeatedly raised concerns over the prime minister’s absence and that the matter had come to his attention. “Members of parliament have been raising this issue for a long time, and it has come to my attention,” Aryal said before directing Shah to attend the House and respond to questions in accordance with the House of Representatives Regulations, 2026.

Six people, including Judge Gokarna Dangi of the Birgunj temporary bench of the High Court Janakpur, were injured after a Scorpio vehicle travelling from Kathmandu to Birgunj plunged about 50–60 metres off the road in Makwanpur on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred at Jurikhel in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6. The Scorpio, bearing registration number Province 3-01-002 Jha 5183, was travelling towards Birgunj when it fell below the road and crashed.

A verbal dispute broke out in Parliament after Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Indira Rana Magar accused Shram Sanskriti Party Chairman Harka Sampang of operating a “cyber army” that allegedly targeted and harassed her. Responding to the allegation, Sampang rejected the claim and said he did not have any such group. He said he was an ordinary lawmaker like Rana and that his responsibility in Parliament was to raise issues and concerns brought forward by the public. Sampang said lawmakers should not become involved in confrontations with members of the public over statements or activities outside Parliament. Instead, he argued, elected representatives should bring public concerns and grievances to the House for discussion.
