Unko Sweater sequel announced as Kalejee – Unko Sweater

Kathmandu, August 18, 2026 — Artmandu has officially announced Kalejee – Unko Sweater as the sequel to its acclaimed Nepali film Unko Sweater, revealing the new title and confirming the involvement of acclaimed Indian actor and writer Piyush Mishra.

Artmandu announced the sequel through an official title-announcement video published on its YouTube channel on August 16. The production house said the new film will continue from the world created in Unko Sweater while introducing a fresh story, new characters and a deeper emotional journey.

According to the announcement, Kalejee – Unko Sweater has been written and will be directed by Nabin Chauhan, who also wrote and directed the first film. Artmandu is producing the sequel.

The announcement also confirmed Piyush Mishra's association with the project. The Indian actor, writer, lyricist and theatre personality is known for his work across Hindi cinema, theatre and music. His involvement marks a notable addition to the creative team of the sequel.

Artmandu has not yet disclosed the complete cast and crew of Kalejee – Unko Sweater. The production company said those details will be announced in the coming days.

The sequel is being presented as a continuation of the Unko Sweater universe rather than simply a repeat of the first film. Artmandu said the new chapter will retain the essence of the original while developing a different story and introducing new characters.

The first Unko Sweater, written and directed by Chauhan and produced by Artmandu Nepal, was set in the multicultural environment of the eastern hills of Panchthar and centred on the relationship between Dharanidhar, played by Bipin Karki, and Phool, played by Miruna Magar. Artmandu describes the film as a story exploring love, human connection and the social realities of the region.

The original film was released in cinemas on May 9, 2025, marking Artmandu's feature-film production debut. The production house's official profile says the film completed a 51-day theatrical run and received recognition from Nepal's Film Development Board as the 12th highest-grossing film in the history of Nepali cinema at the time of the recognition.
