Kathmandu, August 14, 2026 — Chinese automobile manufacturer Dongfeng has entered Nepal’s electric bus market, with Aayam Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., under the Himalayan Organization, launching two electric bus variants at the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.
The company is offering the Dongfeng City EV and Long Range EV, priced at Rs. 11.45 million and Rs. 12.4 million, respectively. Customers booking either model during the expo will receive a discount of Rs. 500,000 from the listed price.
The launch comes as Nepal’s automobile market continues to see growing interest in electric commercial vehicles. The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is being held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from August 11 to 16 and features more than 55 brands and over 40 new vehicle and mobility-product launches.
Both Dongfeng buses have two doors and seating configurations for 25 to 29 passengers. They are equipped with a 220 kWh permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of producing maximum torque of 1,500 Nm.
The buses are offered with 103.47 kWh and 140 kWh battery-pack options. The City EV has a claimed CLTC range of 250 kilometres, while the Long Range EV can travel up to 350 kilometres on a full charge.
