Thimphu, Bhutan, August 14, 2026 — Tunnel 26, an upcoming Bhutanese survival-horror film featuring actors from Bhutan and Nepal, is preparing to bring a dark supernatural story set beneath the mountains to audiences.
The film stars Sangay Tsheltrim, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Anna Sharma, Roshini Dada, Nidup Dorji and Phuntshok Dhonden. The project brings together talent from both countries and is being produced through Sangay Tsheltrim Films, Peak XV Studio and Dorjigs Production, with actor Pradeep Khadka serving as creative producer.
The film follows a group of survivors trapped deep underground inside a tunnel after a terrifying threat emerges from beneath the mountains. As they struggle to survive in the darkness, they encounter an ancient, non-human curse or creature, turning their situation into a fight for survival.
An official teaser has offered the first glimpse of the film's atmosphere, highlighting the claustrophobic tunnel setting, danger and supernatural elements at the heart of the story. The teaser positions Tunnel 26 as a survival-focused horror film built around isolation, fear and an unexplained presence lurking underground.
The project has also attracted attention as a Nepal-Bhutan cinematic collaboration. Anna Sharma traveled to Bhutan in January 2026 for the film's shoot, joining Bhutanese actor Sangay Tsheltrim and Nepali actor Anoop Bikram Shahi. Reports at the time said filming was taking place at several locations in Bhutan.
