Kathmandu, August 21, 2026 — Nepal’s stock market declined on Friday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index falling 10.67 points to close at 2,618.72.
The Sensitive Index dropped 1.54 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.61 points and 0.38 points, respectively.
Trading activity also weakened compared with Thursday. A total of 344 stocks were traded through 59,805 transactions, with shares worth Rs 4.16 billion changing hands. Thursday’s turnover stood at Rs 4.40 billion, representing a decline of around Rs 24 crore.
Sarvottam Paints gained Rs 104 to close at Rs 797.60 after reaching the positive circuit limit. Panchakanya Mai Hydropower also recorded a strong gain of nearly 14 percent.
Dhaulagiri Microfinance Financial Institution was among the biggest decliners, with its share price falling 5.26 percent.
