Kathmandu, September 10, 2026 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell 13.85 points on Thursday to close at 2,531 points, extending its decline to a second consecutive trading day as all major sectoral indices ended lower.
The benchmark index had dropped 15.43 points on Wednesday. Thursday’s market turnover also declined, falling to Rs 4 billion from Rs 4.198 billion in the previous session.
Of the companies traded, share prices of 69 companies increased, while 201 declined and eight remained unchanged.
The Manufacturing and Processing sector recorded the largest decline, falling 1.14 percent. Banking declined 0.47 percent, Development Bank 0.34 percent, Finance 0.66 percent, Hotels and Tourism 0.50 percent, Hydropower 0.55 percent, Investment 0.41 percent, Life Insurance 0.17 percent, Microfinance 0.56 percent, Non-Life Insurance 0.78 percent, Others 0.64 percent and Trading 0.27 percent.
Among the gainers, Liberty Energy recorded the highest increase, with its share price rising 15 percent. Dolti Power gained 8.22 percent, Upper Lohore Khola 7.02 percent, Emerging Nepal 5.46 percent, Shivashree Hydro 4.92 percent, Central Finance 4.46 percent and Janaki Finance 4.28 percent.
