Kathmandu, September 1, 2026 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose 9.24 points to close at 2,522.66 points on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week, while overall market turnover declined compared with the previous session.
Shares worth Rs 2.906 billion changed hands during Tuesday’s trading, down from Rs 3.648 billion recorded on Monday.
Of the 13 sub-groups traded during the session, indices of 12 advanced while only one declined, indicating broad-based gains across most segments of the market.
Upper Mailun Khola Hydropower Company recorded the highest gain of the day, with its share price rising 7.15 percent. The unit price of MBL Equity Fund increased by around 6 percent, while Emerging Nepal gained approximately 5 percent.
Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, which began trading on Tuesday, recorded the largest decline of the session, with its share price falling 8.48 percent.
