Kathmandu, October 3, 2026 — Police have arrested two people on suspicion of stealing mobile phones from various locations in Kathmandu and recovered 25 stolen phones from them, according to the District Police Range Kathmandu.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 24-year-old Suresh Humagain of Kavre, currently living in Kalanki, Kathmandu, and 19-year-old Vivek Kumar Sharma of Mahabu Rural Municipality–1, Dailekh, currently living in Chandragiri, Kathmandu.
According to police, a team deployed from the Janasewa Police Circle arrested Humagain at New Road Gate on Thursday night following information about mobile phone thefts at various locations. Police said one stolen mobile phone was found in his possession.
During questioning, Humagain reportedly told police that additional stolen mobile phones were with his friend Vivek. Police then began searching for Sharma and arrested him from Satungal, Kathmandu.
Police said 24 mobile phones of different brands were recovered from Sharma.
