Pennsylvania, USA, October 11, 2026 — Eight people, including two children and an eight-month-pregnant woman, were fatally shot at a home in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday, with the suspected gunman apparently taking his own life, according to police.
Police were called to a street in Erie on Friday afternoon after witnesses reported seeing a man firing a gun before entering a house. Officers arriving at the scene found two women, aged 51 and 37, dead outside the home.
The other victims were discovered inside the house alongside the gunman, Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah said. All but one of the victims were related to one another.
The victims found inside included two children, aged five and one, on the first floor. Two women, aged 24 and 44, and two men, aged 19 and 21, were found on the second floor and stairwell. One of the victims was eight months pregnant, Lorah said.
Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, Lorah said investigators had reviewed video footage showing the two women who were killed outside the house arriving and seeking help from neighbours. One woman was related to the family by marriage, while the other was a family friend.
