Syangja, October 1, 2026 — A woman died after suffering an electric shock while cleaning a refrigerator in Arjunchaupati Rural Municipality of Syangja.
According to the District Police Office, Syangja, 34-year-old Shanti Sigdel of Arjunchaupati Rural Municipality-5, Aruchaur, received an electric shock at around 8 a.m. Wednesday while cleaning the refrigerator.
Sigdel, who was injured in the incident, was taken to Panchamul Primary Health Center in Aandhikhola Rural Municipality-1 for treatment.
After receiving treatment there, she was referred to Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment. Doctors at the hospital declared her dead in the afternoon.
Police are conducting further investigation into the incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Dutta Awasthi, information officer at the District Police Office, Syangja.
