Gulmi, September 13, 2026 — A 48-year-old woman died after coming into contact with an electrified bare wire that had been laid in a field to deter wild animals in Gulmi district.
The incident occurred in Okhledeh of Madane Rural Municipality-1. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Bishwakarma, information officer at the District Police Office, Gulmi, Sant Bahadur Bista had connected electricity to a bare wire in his field to keep wild animals away.
The deceased has been identified as Dalkumari Khatri, 48, of Madane Rural Municipality-4.
Khatri had gone to Okhledeh to visit her niece’s house along with her grandson. She later became uncontactable, prompting her family to inform the police and request a search.
Police said Khatri was found during the search after she had come into contact with the electrified wire.
