Gulmi, September 10, 2026 — Police in Gulmi have arrested three people after uncovering an alleged illegal firearm manufacturing operation being run from a traditional blacksmith workshop.
During a search of the workshop, police reportedly recovered locally made muzzle-loading guns, gun barrels, firearm components, wooden stocks, ammunition and gunpowder. They also seized various tools and equipment allegedly used to manufacture the weapons.
The three suspects have been taken into custody, and police are conducting further investigation into the alleged production and sale of illegally manufactured firearms.
Police are examining the seized weapons, materials and equipment as part of the investigation and are working to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the alleged operation.
Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, police said.
