Nuwakot, September 7, 2026 — President Ramchandra Paudel on Monday conducted an on-site inspection of several flood-affected areas in Nuwakot after the devastating Bhote Koshi flood that struck Rasuwa on August 26.
During the visit, President Paudel met flood-affected people and listened to their concerns about the disaster and its aftermath.
He received information from the District Security Committee about the impact of the flood in Nuwakot and the damage caused by the disaster. Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi and other members of the committee presented details of the human and material losses suffered by the district.
Regmi also briefed the President on ongoing efforts related to the search for missing people, rescue operations, relief distribution, rehabilitation and immediate reconstruction.
President Paudel also visited a holding center in Nuwakot where people displaced by the flood are currently staying.
