Kathmandu, October 1, 2026 — Shram Sanskriti Party lawmaker Dhruvraj Rai drew laughter in the House of Representatives on Thursday with a brief remark during his address.
Speaking during special time in Thursday’s parliamentary meeting, Rai said, “Mr. Speaker, that is all, sir. Thank you.” He then took his seat, prompting laughter from Speaker and fellow lawmakers.
Earlier, during Tuesday’s meeting, Rai had questioned when Prime Minister Balendra Shah would come to Parliament to respond to questions from lawmakers.
Speaking during the emergency session, Rai had urged the government to take seriously its responsibility to respond to questions raised in Parliament.
“I want to ask through the Speaker: When will the government and the head of government fulfill the responsibilities they are required to fulfill?” Rai had said.
