Kathmandu, September 28, 2026 — Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been arrested again by the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police.
Prasai was taken into custody on Monday morning for investigation following a complaint filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Rachana Khatiwada, according to the Cyber Bureau.
The complaint concerns alleged derogatory remarks Prasai made on social media about Rasik Khatiwada, who was killed during the Gen Z movement.
Khatiwada had previously raised the issue in the House of Representatives after Prasai posted remarks on social media alleging that she had “traded her son’s corpse for a parliamentary seat.” She subsequently filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau, saying that Prasai and others had made insulting remarks targeting her and her son.
Prasai has been arrested in connection with several incidents in the past. He was most recently released on August 3 following an order from the Bhaktapur District Court.
