Nuwakot, September 1, 2026 — Security personnel have recovered 24 bodies from a single house in Bidur Municipality-10 in Nuwakot, an area severely affected by the devastating Bhote Koshi flood.
Nuwakot District Police Office Superintendent of Police Bipin Regmi told Ratopati that the bodies were excavated from a house belonging to a person residing in Betrawati during a search operation.
The identities of the recovered bodies have not yet been ascertained.
The bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for postmortem examinations, SP Regmi said.
The discovery highlights the scale of destruction caused by the flood, which swept through Rasuwa and several downstream districts before affecting communities along the Trishuli and Narayani river systems.
